The Newman Club

St. Francis Newman Center is situated near the campus of Western New Mexico University with whom we have a strong connection.  Newman Centers/Clubs are Catholic ministry centers at universities around the world. This movement was established based on the writings of Cardinal John Henry Newman who encouraged societies for Catholic students attending secular universities. The original Catholic club was founded by Hartwell de la Garde Grissell at Oxford University in 1888.

Our goal is to deepen and enrich the Catholic Faith among the college student body including faculty.  The Newman Club is to be a time of fellowship and mutual support  while creating a faith-based community.
